Rex Ryan Quips “It’s Safe to Say We Won’t Have LeBron at Quarterback”

As the Buffalo Bills quarterback competition progresses without the most dazzling cast of characters, head coach Rex Ryan maintains his surly sense of humor.

After having a brief discussion regarding the NBA Finals, Ryan discussed the team’s gloomy quarterback situation (via NFL.com).

“It’s safe to say we won’t have LeBron at quarterback. We may have LeBron at defensive tackle and at defensive end but we don’t have him at quarterback.”

Isn’t that the truth?

Ryan is pretty good at stating the obvious while attempting to turn the focus to the stronger parts of his team. Talking about the progress of the three quarterbacks who are competing, Ryan once again shared some interesting and confusing insight:

“Wisdom tells me to let it play it out, we’ll see what happens through the end. So you just eliminated Tyrod Taylor, that’s not fair to do. So I think wisdom says let this thing play out and it will all work out in the end.”

Thankfully, we do not have to endure too much more indecision on Ryan’s part. After a couple of preseason games, it should be clear which quarterback the Bills are leaning towards.

Regarding Ryan’s reference of James, perhaps he could get his wish one day and hook up with the star NBA player.

We are pretty sure EJ Manuel, Tyrod Taylor and Matt Cassel wouldn’t be against James lining up at tight end. Then again, King James has bigger fish to fry these days.
