The Tennessee Titans drafted David Cobb in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL draft, his addition seems to have ended the tenure of another running back.

According to Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean, seventh-year back Shonn Greene will be released.

In March 2013, the Titans signed Greene to a three-year, $10 million deal. The Iowa product had recently compiled his second consecutive 1,000-yard season, but he failed to back up the contract with Tennessee. Greene managed 687 yards during the 2013 and 2014 campaigns combined.

Bishop Sankey, Cobb, Dexter McCluster and Antonio Andrews remain on the depth chart at running back. Sankey should lock down his spot as the starter, while Cobb and McCluster battle for second-string duties.
