A scary situation occurred at Fenway Park in Boston as the Red Sox were hosting the Oakland Athletics on Friday night. A fan was struck by a broken bat in the top of the second inning and was forced from the stands in a stretcher.
A video by Deadspin, which we will not embed here due to its graphic nature, shows the bloodied woman screeching in pain as she is being wheeled off in the stretcher.
The woman was sitting behind home plate to the third-base side when part of Brett Lawrie’s bat struck her in the head. There are no updates regarding her condition, but reports from the scene are not encouraging:
It was clear it was bad when another fan stripped off his shirt to apply to the injured fan's head.
