J.J. Watt’s Message to Houston Texans Teammates

Before signing off for the summer, Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt had a message to share with some of his younger teammates.

“Good is the enemy of great,” the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year said, via the team’s official website. “Every single day, we need to be the best we can possibly be. That means, when you’re on your own, when you’re back home, when you’re doing whatever workout that you’re doing, you need to remember that you’re part of this Texans team. You represent the city of Houston and you need to do every single thing you need to do to get yourself ready for training camp so that when this season comes, we’re ready to hit the ground running. That’s our style.”

Watt’s message to the younger crew is extremely direct. Stay out of trouble and remember who you represent while you go off on your own this summer. For Watt, that will be retreating to his cabin in Wisconsin to partake in his vigorous workout regimen and extreme diet.

Watt is a key spokesperson for the team and provides the perfect example for the youngsters to follow. For the team’s sake, it would be wise to follow Watt’s meaningful message in order to return prepared to improve on the team’s 9-7 record from a season ago.
