Will Frank Gore Be Willing to Give up his No. 23 to Josh Robinson?

The Indianapolis Colts drafted Mississippi State running back Josh Robinson with the 205th overall pick in the sixth round of the NFL Draft.

Robinson, who has established a major connection with the number 23, will need to find a jersey number. He actually has a huge 23 tattooed on his chest. That is how much this number means to him.

Here is why (via CBSSports.com).

May 23, 2004: His grandfather died

May 23, 2005: His grandmother died.

February 23, 2011: His mother was sentenced to 18 years in jail.

November 23, 2013: He recorded his first 100-yard game.

As we can see, there has been some traumatic events as well as one major achievement that have Robinson in love with 23. The only problem is Colts’ running back Frank Gore chose No. 23 when he signed with the team in March.

Would Gore be willing to give up the number 23 for his young teammate? Gore wore No. 21 for 10 years while playing with the San Francisco 49ers. He could not choose to be No. 21 again since that number belongs to Colts’ cornerback Vontae Davis.

The fact that Gore has not had much time become attached to wearing 23 could lead him to give it up for Robinson. We shall see soon enough.
