Jay Cutler Made Dinner Reservations for First-Round Pick Kevin White

The Chicago Bears selected wide receiver Kevin White with their first pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. White then made a visit to Halas Hall to meet with the Bears’ staff and teammates on the day following the draft.

He also met with Bears starting quarterback Jay Cutler.

In an act of goodwill, Cutler offered to arrange dinner reservations for White and his family on that night. Speaking highly of his new quarterback, White shared his meeting experience (via ESPN).

He’s a cool guy, laid back. He’s a man of the city who said if I needed anything I should let him know. I’m going to dinner tonight with the family, and he kind of set that up.

The specifics of where Cutler arranged dinner for White is not known, however, it appears Cutler made a positive impression. Speaking further on meeting with Cutler, White added:

I think he was very excited. He was calm, as well, but I could tell he was [eager to get going]. I think we’ll do some pretty good things.

White definitely fills a large void left when the team traded wide receiver Brandon Marshall back in March. During his last season at West Virginia, White recorded 109 receptions for 1,447 yards and 10 touchdowns. He is sure to be a major factor in the Bears’ passing attack.

If Cutler’s day job does not work out well for him this year, he could always look into a career as a concierge.
