Speaking with media on Wednesday during an induction into the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Ring of Honor, former NFL quarterback Doug Williams spoke in glowing terms about rookie quarterback Jameis Winston.
The two of them have had a relationship ever since Winston won the Heisman Trophy a couple years back. “I believe in him,” Williams said about the No. 1 overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft.
Williams also made a stunning statement regarding Winston’s personality, comparing him to the most recognizable basketball player on the planet:

The charisma Williams speaks of is undeniably evident. Wherever Winston goes, whoever he talks to, he’s almost always upbeat and eager to lift others into the emotional stratosphere where he dwells.

Williams has been around professional athletes for his entire adult life. He’s won a Super Bowl MVP for his contributions to Washington’s victory in Super Bowl XXII. Therefore, it would be wise to take him at his word.
Winston’s personality is off-the-charts dynamic. We’ll see soon enough if that ends up translating to wins for the Buccaneers on the gridiron when the season begins this fall.
