Colts Owner Hopeful for Two Super Bowls Under Andrew Luck

The Indianapolis Colts made the excellent (lucky) selection of Andrew Luck with the fist pick in the 2012 NFL draft.

In the three seasons that have followed, the quarterback has managed to lead his team to 11 wins and a playoff spot each year. And while these postseason appearances are nice, Colts owner Jim Irsay wants more.

He also has faith that they will win at least two championships with Luck under center (via the team’s official website).

In the Andrew Luck era, we would like to win at least two World Championships.

Irsay shared his ambition while introducing the team’s newest first-round pick, wide receiver Philip Dorsett. The Colts certainly have a team loaded with receiving weapons for the 25-year-old quarterback. Dorsett joins T.Y. Hilton, who has been improving year after year. The Colts are also armed with veteran Andre Johnson and have an up-and-coming talent in wideout Donte Moncrief.

After adding running Frank Gore to aid in the run game, the Colts also possess the best ground attack they have had since Luck took over for Peyton Manning under center. And don’t forget about Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen, who combined for 16 touchdowns at the tight end position last season.

The Colts may be armed and ready for a Super Bowl run, but they are going to be facing some stiff competition in the AFC. Remember, the team was blown out by the eventual Super Bowl champion New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game last year.

The goal here is obviously Super Bowl or bust. Head coach Chuck Pagano will be coaching 2015 as a lame-duck after the team decided not to offer him an extension this offseason.

Irsay didn’t mince words here. He has a goal, and anything short of that will be considered a failure.
