For the last three months, particularly the last three weeks, NFL fans have been inundated with mock drafts. It’s a fun novelty, yet the mock drafts are never right. Not even close.
Last year Sportsnaut did it’s first mock draft that mocked mock drafts and we got three picks correct, if memory serves. How does that compare to the other mock drafts out there? Ironically, pretty good. This year we’re back with another mock draft that loads up 45 of the “so-called” best NFL Draft prospects into the system and then randomly picks names.
We did weigh the Top 45, so like the NBA draft lottery, a player ranked higher on a draft prospect list has the chance to go higher. However it’s not like the NBA draft lottery where the percentages are a little more rigged massaged. The method we’re using is that the top 15 prospects have three opportunities to get picked, the next 15 have two opportunities, and the final 15 have only one opportunity.
Final note on this mock draft. There are going to be lots of trades. The mock draft isn’t predicting Brett Hundley will be drafted by Detroit, it’s predicting that Brett Hundley will be the 23rd pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. Then again, perhaps Hundley could get the Lions out of the first round of the playoffs.
Enjoy our mock draft that mocks mocks drafts with completely randomly selected picks.
