NBA Playoffs: Bucks Defeat Bulls, Force Game 6

The Eastern Conference Playoffs just got a tad more interesting on Monday night. A short while after the Brooklyn Nets defeated the Atlanta Hawks to even that series at two, the upstart Milwaukee Bucks, led by Michael Carter-Williams, pulled off an impressive road victory against the Bulls to force a Game 6 in that series.

Carter-Williams put up 22 points, eight rebounds and nine assists in the 94-88 victory. Fellow back court partner Khris Middleton added 21, as the two guards combined to shoot 18-of-31 from the field.

Overall, Game 5 was a struggle for the Bulls on offense. The team shot just 34.4 percent from the field, including 4-of-22 from three-point range. Derrick Rose, who had been playing amazing basketball in the series, netted just five field goals on 20 attempts and turned the ball over six times in 42 minutes. Meanwhile, Jimmy Butler hit on just 5-of-21 shots on the night.

With this win, the Bucks can even up the series at three in Game 6 on Thursday night in Milwaukee.

At the very least, the Cleveland Cavaliers have to be seen as the biggest winner here. No matter the outcome of the Bulls-Bucks series, the winner will have relatively short rest compared to LeBron James and company, who closed out a series sweep against the Boston Celtics on Sunday.
