NBA Announces First Game in Africa

For the first time ever, the NBA is going to take its talents to Africa. The Association announced on Wednesday that it will play its first-ever exhibition game on the continent on August 1st in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The game will feature Team Africa, led by South Sudanese native Luol Deng against Team USA, which will be led by Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris Paul.

The game will be hosted to help the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Africa, SOS Children’s Villages Association of South Africa and the Nelson Mandela Foundation.

That’s a pretty cool aspect of what is a historical basketball game. If successful, this could segue into more exhibition games in the world’s second-largest, but long forgotten continent.
