John Wall Shreds Toronto Raptors, Joins Exclusive Postseason Club

John Wall

The Washington Wizards struggled to win on the road during the 2014-15 regular season, managing a 17-24 record away from the Verizon Center.

However, point guard John Wall has propelled the team to a pair of road victories over the Toronto Raptors in the first round of the NBA playoffs. Tuesday night, he guided the Wizards to a 117-106 win in historical fashion.

Wall racked up 26 points and 17 assists throughout the victory, becoming just the 10th player in NBA postseason history to have tallied that stat line, per Basketball-Reference.com.

He joined Magic Johnson (3), Kevin Johnson (2), Tim Hardaway, Steve Nash, Chris Paul and John Stockton on the list.

That’s certainly some elite company, considering Magic and Stockton are in the Hall of Fame. Plus, both Kevin Johnson and Hardaway were finalists in 2015, while Nash is well on his way. It’s too early to say the same for Paul, but he’s currently one of the league’s best point guards.

Behind Wall’s efforts, the Wizards will take a 2-0 series advantage back home to Washington D.C. with a chance to sweep the Raptors. Game 3 is scheduled for Friday, April 24, at 8 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN2.
