Former Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Eddie LeBaron passed away on Wednesday at the age of 85.
LeBaron drew widespread praise at the University of Pacific, earning All-American honors during an undefeated 1949 season.
After graduation, LeBaron served in the Korean War as a Marine, earning both the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his heroics in the conflict.
On the field, LeBaron earned four trips to the Pro Bowl during an 11-year career. He also served as the Atlanta Falcons general manager from 1977-1982.
The University of Pacific indicated on Wednesday that LeBaron’s death was from natural causes. He is survived by his wife Doralee, two sons and five grandchildren.
