Ex-NFL Player Arrested for DUI, Tried Biting a Cop

Former San Francisco 49ers first-round pick Kwame Harris has seen his post-NFL life take a turn over the past couple years.

Back in 2013, Harris spent time in jail for domestic violence against his then boyfriend.

It’s now being reported, the former Stanford standout had a pretty big run-in with the law this past weekend.

Harris, 33, was arrested on DUI charges, aggravated assault on an officer, hit-and-run and resisting officers Sunday evening in San Francisco.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, authorities say Harris was involved in two hit-and-run crashes while under the influence of drugs. Harris then became agitated and attempted to bite one of the officers.

Medics who arrived at the scene Sunday evening in San Francisco determined Harris was on drugs, at which point he was taken into custody.

Harris, a first-round pick in the 2003 draft, started 44 games in five seasons with the 49ers before spending his final season with the Oakland Raiders.
