Emmanuel Sanders: If the Broncos Don’t Win the Super Bowl, it’s a Bust Season

Entering his second season with the Denver Broncos, wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders is taking an all or nothing stance as the 2015 season approaches.

The Broncos, who have achieved no less than playoff status over the last three seasons, have set their expectations high under new head coach Gary Kubiak for the 2015 season. After Kubiak spoke to the team Monday and showed them film footage of high power plays from the last 20 Super Bowls, Sanders heard the championship message loud and clear.

That’s what [executive vice president of football operations/general manager John] Elway wants. The focus is bringing a world championship to this city.

We want to get back there and we want to win it,” Sanders said after a team meeting, via ESPN.com. “The main focus of this group is to win a Super Bowl. That’s the expectation. If we don’t bring a Super Bowl to this city this year, then it’s a bust season.”

Denver started its offseason workouts Monday, which is allowed because they have a new head coach. While Sanders caught the drift of Kubiak’s message and video show, star wide receiver Demaryius Thomas didn’t. He’s reportedly skipping offseason activities due to a contract dispute after having the franchise tag placed on him.

Sanders’ proclamation of Super Bowl or bust is likely etched into the ears of future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning, who will be feeling a ton of pressure this upcoming season.
