Report: Saints Trade Jimmy Graham to the Seahawks

In one of the biggest trades in the recent history of the NFL, Fox Sports insider Jay Glazer is reporting that the New Orleans Saints have traded Pro Bowl tight end Jimmy Graham to the Seattle Seahawks.

The parameters of the deal include a fourth-round pick going to Seattle with Graham. Coming back to the Saints would be Pro Bowl center Max Unger and a first-round pick.

It’s a stunning development for both sides.

New Orleans had been trying to get under the cap over the past few weeks. Graham’s cap savings will help this team remain viable moving forward. It also acquires a high-value draft pick and one of the best centers in the NFL.

As it relates to Seattle, the team gives Russell Wilson a shiny new toy to play with on offense. Graham is considered one of the top tight ends in the NFL. He’s averaging about 90 receptions and 11 touchdowns per season since the start of the 2011 campaign.
