Report: LeSean McCoy Unhappy About Trade to Buffalo

A trade that shocked the football world may have made for one unhappy member of the Buffalo Bills.

While the deal sending LeSean McCoy from the Philadelphia Eagles to Western New York cannot be completed until Tuesday, reports are trickling out regarding the running back’s opinion of the trade.

And it’s not good.

He’s (McCoy) a Pennsylvania kid. He’s never played football outside of Pennsylvania—high school, college, pro,” a source told ESPN’s Josina Anderson shortly after the trade. “So of course he’s not happy.”

The source went on to tell Anderson that McCoy is “frustrated.”

In addition to this, there have also been rumors that McCoy may seek more money from the Bills moving forward. As it stands right now, he’s set to earn about $24 million in base salary over the next three seasons.

While it’s obvious McCoy isn’t happy about being dealt to Buffalo, he didn’t do much in the back end to stop the trade. It’s also highly unlikely that his dissatisfaction with the move will end up halting it before it can be finalized on Tuesday.

Considering McCoy has racked up over 3,600 total yards and 16 scores over the past two seasons, this deal came as a surprise to many.

Current Eagles running back Darren Sproles even expressed his shock at the move.

Outside of moving McCoy, Chip Kelly and company have sent a number of long-tenured Eagles players packing over the past two weeks. And while McCoy is on his way out of town, it remains to be seen how this might impact the locker room dynamic in Philadelphia.

As it relates to Buffalo, McCoy better get used to playing for the Bills. Short of a holdout or refusing to play for the team, he will be suiting up at Ralph Wilson Stadium this upcoming fall.
