Report: Chris Culliver Signs with the Redskins

One of the most underrated players on the market, former San Francisco 49ers cornerback Chris Culliver has signed a four-year, $32 million contract with the Washington Redskins.

After missing the entire 2013 campaign with a torn ACL, the former third-round pick out of South Carolina stepped up big time in a starting role for San Francisco this past season. In 14 games (all starts), the 26-year-old cornerback recorded 15 passes defended, four interceptions and a touchdown en route to a Pro Bowl-caliber performance.

According to Pro Football Focus (subscription required), Culliver also graded out among the top-13 cornerbacks in coverage.

With Culliver now in the mix, the Redskins potentially have a true No. 1 cover guy in the secondary. That’s something they haven’t had since Champ Bailey was roaming around D.C.
