Report: Brian Orakpo Signs with the Titans

In desperate need of a pass rush, the Tennessee Titans have reportedly landed three-time Pro Bowler Brian Orakpo on a four-year, $32 million contract.

The former first-round pick back in 2009 has racked up 40 sacks in six NFL seasons. However, he has struggled with injuries and a lack of production over the past three seasons, recording a total of 11.5 sacks in the process.

In adding a pass-rush threat via free agency, the Titans were able to nab a high-upside player to team up with the recently re-signed Derrick Morgan to form a decent combo in their front seven. Even with Morgan aboard last season, Tennessee still tallied just 39 sacks during a two-win campaign.

If the Titans get the 2011 version of Orakpo, this will be a good signing. If they get the player that has struggled since, it will go down as a pretty bad overall move. Orakpo recorded just a half of sack and 24 tackles in seven games this past season.
