Prospect Receives 75 Cent Check From New York Yankees

One of my dreams growing up was to become a Major League Baseball player and receive a Major League salary. That of course didn’t happen, but this story will make you feel better when you realize you make more than a New York Yankees’ prospect.

According to CBS Sports, Yankees’ minor league catcher and first baseman Jake Hernandez received a $0.75 paycheck. And yes, the decimals are places in the correct spots. That is 75 cents.

Hernandez, who signed with the Yankees as an undrafted free agent last summer, tweeted out a picture of the check, and quickly deleted it. However, some lucky son of a gun caught a screen shot of the picture.

What would you do with $0.75? Maybe offer it up to Hernandez. Seems like he might need it.
