Luckily both Indianapolis Colts linebacker Erik Walden and another innocent bystander escaped this serious situation without any major injuries.
According to a report by the Indy Star, Walden was attacked by his ex-girlfriend, Erica Palmer, who showed up to his house with a baseball bat and a gun. Walden and the woman he is seeing returned home to see Palmer on the sofa brandishing both weapons.
While Walden was able to get the gun from Palmer, she proceeded to attack the other woman with the baseball bat, breaking her arm before fleeing the scene.
Once Walden and his female companion were headed to the emergency room, Palmer returned and slashed the NFL player in the arm before fleeing the scene again.
It appears that Palmer was upset about Walden having a relationship with this woman.
Walden and Palmer have two children together, both of whom were waiting in Palmer’s car as she orchestrated the attack on their father.
Palmer is currently being held without bail on charges of aggravated assault, family violence aggravated assault, theft by taking, and first-degree burglary.
