Arizona Diamondbacks Take the Hot Dog to Another Level

Major League Baseball and hot dogs make for a beautiful marriage. It’s one of the things that make a baseball game. Much like the players (and fans), they also come in all shapes and sizes.

The Arizona Diamondbacks recently tried to outdo the 18-inch bacon-and-cheese stuffed corn dog that was famous last year by inventing The Churro Dog.

According to ESPN.com, Diamondbacks’ team president and CEO Derrick Hall had this to say about the dog.

We’ve found that desserts work really well in the heat we have here, said Hall.

The Churro Dog is a warmed-up cinnamon churro which is considered the hot dog. Instead of a bun, they use a Long John chocolate glazed donut. To take place of typical condiments, the dog is topped with frozen yogurt, caramel and chocolate sauce. Sounds much better than ketchup and mustard, right?

Team chef Michael Snoke composed a group of eaters to test out the idea. Needless to say, they fell in love with it.

The dog will set you back $8.50 and 1,117 calories. So make sure you don’t skip the gym.
