2015 NFL Franchise Numbers Officially Set

With teams facing a deadline to either franchise soon-to-be free agents or let them hit the open market, the NFL has released a memo to teams indicating what the 2015 franchise tag numbers are going to be at.

Here’s a breakdown (h/t NFL Media’s Albert Breer).

Position Tag (Millions)
Quarterback $18.544
Running Back $10.951
Tight End $8.347
Wide Receiver $12.823
Offensive Line $12.943
Defensive Tackle $11.193
Defensive End $14.813
Linebacker $13.195
Cornerback $13.075
Safety $9.618
Kicker $4.126
Punter $4.126

This means that the Dallas Cowboys will pay Dez Bryant nearly $13 million should he sign his tender. The same goes for Demaryius Thomas and the Denver Broncos. As it relates to Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Justin Houston, he’s set to make about $13.2 million should he sign his tender.

While none of these teams will see their current cap numbers immediately impacted by the franchise tag until the players sign on the dotted line, they can pretty much take the aforementioned salaries and add them to their cap total for the upcoming free agency period.
