Jim Harbaugh Works with Jameis Winston and Bryce Petty

If you’re a NFL draft prospect and just so happen to play quarterback, what better way to prepare for upcoming scouting events than to work with Michigan head football coach Jim Harbaugh?

That’s exactly what Florida State’s Jameis Winston and Baylor’s Bryce Petty did in the lead up to the annual NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis later this week.

The quarterbacks apparently spent three days working with Harbaugh in Ann Arbor, which is an indication that some top prospects hold the former San Francisco 49ers head coach in extremely high regard.

As much as this might be seen as a good thing for the two quarterbacks, think about what it does for the University of Michigan. If two highly-regarded prospects are willing to spend three days with the team’s head coach in order to help them prepare for the draft process, it’s only going to further the perception recruits have of the football program—most notably Harbaugh.

Winston is seen as a top-10 lock in April’s draft, while Petty is more of a mid-round caliber prospect. Both will be taking part in the combine later this week. It will be interesting to see how their work with Harbaugh impacts their performance at the annual event.
