Dez Bryant Openly Blasts the Dallas Cowboys

Impending free agent wide receiver Dez Bryant sent out a rather alarming tweet regarding what he perceives to be a lack of loyalty from the Dallas Cowboys.

This tweet is interesting for a number of reasons.

It came shortly after reports surfaced that Dallas is prepared to place the franchise tag on the wide receiver. If franchised, Bryant would then be taken off the open market before the start of free agency next month. And while it would guarantee him nearly $13 million next year, there has to be some concern that he will make a big deal over it.

The largest concern from Dallas’ perspective has to be that Bryant—always somewhat of a malcontent—would decide to hold out of offseason activities and potentially training camp in order to push the team into signing him to a long-term deal.

Then again, this could be Bryant’s way of publicly telling the Cowboys not to utilize the franchise tag on him. With DeMarco Murray also slated to become a free agent, it’s possible the Cowboys could choose the less enigmatic personality when it comes to using the franchise tag.

As it is, Bryant surely doesn’t seem too excited about the perceived lack of loyalty the Cowboys are showing him and the likelihood of being given the franchise tag.
