Tom Brady on Peyton Manning: “I Certainly Hope He Comes Back”

Along with Denver Broncos’ teammates expressing their confidence that quarterback Peyton Manning will return, New England Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady has also jumped on the bandwagon.

Manning has always been one of Brady’s biggest rivals, and it seems he would like to meet up a just a few more times with his competitor.

“What a great player he’s been for this league. He’s a great competitor, and I’ve been fortunate to play against him a bunch of times. I certainly hope he comes back, ’cause the league will miss him if he doesn’t.” Brady said in a Q&A with reporters on Thursday. “But those decisions are up to him. I’m sure it’s up to whether he’s mentally and physically — that’s what he wants to do. But I certainly hope he’s back.”

Yet to address the public or even his family on his future, Manning has kept pretty quiet on the subject.

Peyton’s father, Archie, even told NFL Network that he hasn’t been told by his son about his plans.

Well, Peyton evaluates things; he’s pretty good at that. I can’t tell him what to do, and he hasn’t told me what he’s going to do. But I do know that he’s really giving a lot of things a lot of thought. He’s thinking about where he is physically, he wants to see how he can do this some more, trying to get over an injury.

Only Manning can give us the answer when he’s ready. With a physical pending and new changes at head coach, Manning has a lot to ponder in a short period of time.

Whatever he does decide, Manning has been a legend in his 17-year career in the NFL. Regarding Brady’s comments, we would all love to see these two match up in January a couple more times before all is said and done.
