Jimmy Graham Plans to Dunk at the Pro Bowl

Dunking the goal post in official NFL games is a violation that has earned the term “The Jimmy Graham Rule.”

New Orleans Saints’ tight end Jimmy Graham, who is known for making some awesome and sometimes goalpost bending dunks, was fined $30,000 in the preseason for violating his namesake rule.

Now that Graham is on free range at the Pro Bowl, he was asked if he planned to bring in the dunk in Sunday’s game (via NFL.com).

100 percent. Hopefully, they get me the ball. I’m for sure (going to dunk). Hopefully I won’t get fined this time. Last time that fine was a little bit steep, especially for a preseason game.

Graham, who said he doesn’t know if the NFL would fine him if he dunks during the Pro Bowl, isn’t planning on stopping what he loves to do.

I really don’t care,” he said. I mean, it’s the Pro Bowl, it’s supposed to be fun. So hopefully they don’t take my check away afterwards.

Per the collective bargaining agreement, the players on the winning team in the Pro Bowl takes home $55,000 with the losing team getting $28,000. If a fine is imposed, Graham could see a significant portion of Sunday’s salary go down the drain.
