Colts’ OT Xavier Nixon Misses Team’s Flight to New England

In the, “why the heck are all the headlines regarding the Indianapolis Colts negative category,” reserve offensive tackle Xavier Nixon literally missed the team’s flight to New England and will not be active in the AFC Championship game on Sunday.

This coupled with reports that Trent Richardson is not accompanying the team to New England makes Saturday a rather negative news days for the AFC South champions.

Nixon, a second-year player from Florida, appeared in four games (one start) for the Colts during the regular season. Nixon did not see the field against the Denver Broncos last weekend in the divisional playoffs and probably wasn’t going to be active on Sunday either.

It’s still a rather interesting story. How do you miss a team flight? Maybe Nixon will offer up an explanation at some point soon.
