Brian Schottenheimer Leaves Rams to Become Georgia’s Offensive Coordinator

After three years as Jeff Fisher’s offensive coordinator with the St. Louis Rams, the team announced on Wednesday that Brian Schottenheimer has taken the same position with the Georgia Bulldogs. He will replace Mike Bobo, who left Athens to become Colorado State’s newest head coach.

In three seasons with the Rams, Schottenheimer failed to lead their offense out of the doldrums. His offenses didn’t finish higher than 21st in the NFL in scoring in any of his three seasons and ranked 25th in total yards in 2014.

Prior to his stint in St. Louis, the younger Schottenheimer acted as the New York Jets offensive coordinator from 2006-2011. He led that team to two seasons in the top-10 in scoring.

With Schottenheimer out of the mix, St. Louis is now left to look for another offensive coordinator to rebuild a unit that has struggled a great deal in recent seasons.
