Brandon Browner Wants Teammates to Target Injured Seahawks Players

New England Patriots cornerback Brandon Browner may be a former member of the Legion of Boom. He may consider himself friends with Seattle Seahawks defensive backs Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas.

But after checking in on what Browner had to say about the upcoming Super Bowl against his former team, the cornerback strongly hinted that hoisting the Lombardi comes before the physical well-being of his ex-teammates.

“At the end of the day, this is about the Super Bowl. I’m gonna tell my teammates go hit that elbow, go hit that shoulder,” the veteran defensive back said. “Hit it, yeah. Try to break it if you can. You can be my best friend after the game but, at the end of the day, I know you want the Super Bowl just as bad as I do.”

Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, who isn’t afraid to use his physicality on the field, could be a solid candidate to take some shots at Earl Thomas, who will be playing with an injured shoulder. Meanwhile, Richard Sherman’s elbow could be the target of a physical specimen in the form of Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount should the defensive back decide to help stop New England’s rushing attack.

As it relates to Browner’s comments, this is probably nothing more than his competitiveness coming out. Regardless of his feelings about former Seahawks teammates, Browner will do everything in his power to prevent his old team from hoisting a second consecutive Lombardi. If that means telling other Patriots players to target injured opponents, so be it.
