Richard Sherman: Marshawn Lynch Having MVP Season

At a time when a lot of the focus surrounding postseason awards in Seattle has been on Russell Wilson, there is another player on the Seahawks who deserves some recognition, maybe even more than the Super Bowl-winning quarterback.

That guy is Marshawn Lynch, who Pro Bowl cornerback Richard Sherman talked up regarding his performance this season, saying the former is playing “MVP-caliber football.”

Lynch, who missed most of the first half on Monday with an upset stomach, has put up nearly 1,600 total yards with 16 touchdowns through 15 games.

Lynch tallied 113 yards and two scores on 10 carries in a dominating Seahawks victory over the Arizona Cardinals in Monday Night Football. He’s also put up 80-plus total yards in eight consecutive games.

It will be interesting to see where Lynch does finish in the final MVP vote compared to Wilson. It’s rather obvious who is more valuable to Seattle’s success, but we all know MVP voters prefer quarterbacks over any other position in the NFL.
