Did Rex Grossman Turn Down the Cleveland Browns?

In a sign that things aren’t getting better for a fledgling Cleveland Browns franchise, a recent report from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler suggests that Rex Grossman turned down an invite to sign with the Browns.

Grossman and the Browns couldn’t work out the logistics because he’s enjoying the holidays with his extended family.

No matter how either side wants to spin this, Grossman turned down the Browns in order to spend time with his in-laws for Christmas.

Cleveland is in search for quarterback help to close out its season. Johnny Manziel has been ruled out with a hamstring injury, while Brian Hoyer is suffering through a shoulder injury.

Should Hoyer not be able to go, undrafted rookie free agent Connor Shaw will get the start against the Baltimore Ravens.

Rarely do you see someone of Grossman’s caliber (not really good) turn down a job and the potential of earning a nice little paycheck for one day of work.

Sadly, this might tell us more about the situation in Cleveland than anything else.
