Report: Raiders Offered Jim Harbaugh More Money Than Michigan

In a sign that former San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh really did have his heart set on returning home to Michigan, Fox Sports NFL insider Mike Garafolo reported early Tuesday morning that the Oakland Raiders offered Harbaugh more money than the Wolverines.

The scribe went on to indicate that Oakland was willing to make Harbaugh the highest-paid head coach in the NFL. It’s such an odd situation. Leaving a powerhouse in the form of the 49ers for a fledgling college football program. And then turning down millions and the ability remain at home in Northern California to take on a reclamation project in Ann Arbor.

Harbaugh will be announced as Michigan’s newest head coach in a press conference on Tuesday.

As it relates to the Raiders, they are left looking for someone to turn the franchise around.
