Kobe Bryant and other members of the Los Angeles Lakers are sporting “I can’t breathe” t-shirts as part of what is becoming a widespread protest to show support for the family of Eric Garner, who was killed by a New York police officer earlier this year.

This sort of silent protest started after a grand jury failed to indict the officer in question for utilizing a chokehold against Garner, who was unarmed at the time of the incident. Garner died shortly thereafter.

This also comes on the heels of members of the Cleveland Cavaliers, LeBron James included, showing support for Garner’s family on Monday.
