Marlins Park Looks Horrible for Bowl Game

Converting a baseball-only stadium for a college football bowl game isn’t necessarily the best idea in the world. And when said stadium is Marlins Park, it turns into a travesty.

This is what happened on Monday as the home of the Miami Marlins hosted a seemingly meaningless bowl game between BYU and Memphis.

Like most modern stadiums, Marlins Park has some unique baseball features to it. See home plate right there near the front of the goal line on the bottom of the screen? That’s all sorts of awesome.

It remains to be seen whether this will be an annual event at Marlins Park. The Miami Beach Bowl is in its first year of existence and isn’t necessarily drawing the largest of crowds.
