Ben Roethlisberger Believes Le’Veon Bell is Having MVP Season

At 9-5 on the season, the Pittsburgh Steelers stand a really good chance at earning a playoff spot. And with wins in their final two games, Mike Tomlin’s squad will win the AFC North.

A lot of the focus thus far this season has been on Ben Roethlisberger and a passing game that is putting up some ridiculous numbers. But it’s second-year running back Le’Veon Bell who deserves a lot of the credit for a resurgence of Pittsburgh’s offensive attack.

For his part, Big Ben agrees.

The O-line is playing great and Bell is having an MVP-caliber season,” Big Ben told a local radio station in Pittsburgh. (Antonio Brown) is doing what he’s doing, but we still have some little things here and there that we feel like we can get better on.

And while some will say DeMarco Murray is the running back who deserves MVP consideration, Bell’s 2014 performance has been utterly ridiculous.

Bell has put up 1,278 rushing yards and leads all NFL running backs with 765 receiving yards on a whopping 76 receptions. It’s also mind-boggling that a running back in today’s NFL is averaging over 10 yards per reception.

The second-year pro from Michigan State has also put up 100-plus total yards in all but two games thus far this year. That’s a sign that he’s been consistently good throughout.

Aaron Rodgers is surely the front-runner to win the award this year, which would bring the total to 12 quarterbacks in the past 15 years to take home the trophy. With that said, there are players at other positions who deserve some recognition, none more so than Bell.
