Report: Chicago White Sox Sign Adam LaRoche

According to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale, the Chicago White Sox have hit the free agent market again. The team has apparently signed first baseman Adam LaRoche to a two-year, $25 million contract.

LaRoche, 35, is a career .264 hitter with 243 homers over the course of a 11-year career with five teams. He hit .259 with 26 homers and 92 RBI for the Washington Nationals last season.

Looking to replace a now retired Paul Konerko in the lineup, Chicago finds itself a consistent bat here. LaRoche has hit 20-plus homers in each of his last 10 full seasons in the Majors. His best season came with the Nationals back in 2012 when he tagged a career-high 33 homers and drove in 100-plus runs for the second time in his career.

Chicago previously added left-handed reliever Zach Duke on a three-year contract earlier this week.
