DeSean Jackson Clarifies Social Media Posts, Offers Advice to RGIII

Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson isn’t necessarily endearing himself to those who have questioned his mentality in the past.

Fresh off a string of social media posts that had people wondering whether he was calling out Robert Griffin III and other teammates, Jackson attempted to clarify the messages.

Speaking with members of the San Francisco 49ers media prior to Washington’s game in Santa Clara, Jackson indicated that this specific post wasn’t intended for anyone.

Then on Thursday, Jackson clarified this even further (via CSN Washington).

Whoever felt like it was directed at them, that’s who it was directed at.

Surely someone on the Redskins probably felt it was directed at members of the team, as head coach Jay Gruden told his players to calm down their social media presence immediately after Jackson posted this.

Jackson also offered some words of advice to RGIII about the criticism he has received in recent weeeks.

That’s what comes with being a professional athlete. You have to know how to take it, how to give it. Criticism is a big factor in this game we play.

Jackson and the Redskins are 3-7 on the season and currently in last place in the NFC East. To say that his first season in D.C. hasn’t gone too swimmingly would be an understatement.

However talented Jackson may be, it appears that he’s taken his enigmatic personality with him from Philadelphia. It will be interesting to see how this plays out, especially if Jackson continues to chirp off the field while not producing elite numbers on the field.
