WATCH Trick Play Helps Rams Take 21-3 Lead over Seahawks

This is absolutely ridiculous. The St. Louis Rams just ran one of the best trick plays in recent memory. Up 14-3 against the Seattle Seahawks, the Rams were setting up to return a punt at their own 10-yard line when this awesomeness happened.

Yes. That’s Rams wide receiver Tavon Austin pretending to return a punt on the bottom of the screen with Seattle’s punt coverage team looking like it was going to be in a good position to force the Rams deep in their own end.

Unfortunately, that’s not where John Ryan’s punt was directed.

As you can see above, Stedman Bailey actually received the punt at the top of the screen and ended up going 90 yards for a touchdown.

Seahawks’ head coach Pete Carroll was livid on the sideline, but it’s obvious that Austin did not call for a fair catch here, which would have been a penalty.
