LeBron James Bringing Back the ‘Chalk Toss’

Remember a young LeBron James? The player that many enjoyed playing the game of basketball as if it were actually a game. Long before James took on the role of a businessman with the Miami Heat, he was just a young man playing the game he loved in the city he loved even more.

Those times seem so long ago, especially with how much James has matured as a man and a player since he last suited up for the Cleveland Cavaliers in a regular season game.

But it appears that the two-time NBA champion is ready to bring back some of the things that made him such a fun player to watch years ago.

According to his Twitter page, James is going back to the pre-game ritual of tossing rosin powder into the air. It’s called nothing more than the “chalk toss.”

It’s also something he “learned” from the likes of Kevin Garnett and Michael Jordan growing up.

Cleveland takes on the New York Knicks Thursday night in one of the most anticipated regular season openers in recent NBA history. Now playing with the likes of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love, let’s all hope James goes back to playing basketball the way he did during his previous stint with Cleveland.

After all, that’s what endeared him to basketball fans in the first place.
