A.J. Green Expects to Miss Week 7

Instead of dealing with a nagging toe injury for the remainder of the season, it appears that Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green is going to sit out for another week.

The fourth-year wide receiver, who was inactive in Cincinnati’s tie with the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, indicated after the game that he expects to miss Week 7.

As Holtzman indicates, the good news here is that Green won’t require surgery, which would have kept him out for an extended period of time.

With Green out of action on Sunday, other Bengals receivers stepped up for Andy Dalton in the passing game. Mohamed Sanu recorded 10 receptions, while Dane Sanzenbacher added four catches on five targets.

With that said, the Bengals would miss Green against a tough Indianapolis Colts team on the road next week. If he’s unable to go, it will be a major hit for Cincinnati’s passing game.
