Brett Favre Received At Least One Call to Play in the NFL Last Season

Brett Favre’s first NFL pass came with the Atlanta Falcons in 1991, and it resulted in a interception return for a touchdown. He was just a wide-eyed 21-year-old rookie who had started his college career during the Ronald Reagan Administration.

After a Hall of Fame caliber 20-year NFL career, Favre called it quits as the league’s all-time leader in touchdown passes back in 2010.

Now a few years removed from suiting up in a NFL game, Favre is enjoying his off time away from the league.

This didn’t stop at least one team from calling up the now 45-year-old about returning to the NFL last season (via CBS Sports).

Brett Favre just turned 45 on October 10. But as recent as last season, teams were calling the then 44-year-old quarterback about suiting up in the NFL.

Favre appeared on NFL Network’s pregame show on Sunday morning and indicated that his agent Bus Cook received a call from at least one team in an attempt to get him to return to the league in 2013.

But for Favre, he viewed this as nothing more than joke.

When Bus calls me now, I just caller ID it…I’m so glad I was not in a hotel preparing to play a game, and cooking pancakes today.

It would really be interesting to see what team gave Favre’s agent a call last season. Wouldn’t it be golden if Ted Thompson and the Green Bay Packers, who were without Aaron Rodgers for multiple games, were the team that called him?

All the storylines…all of them.
