Former Oregon tight end Colt Lyerla was arrested in Washington County, Oregon, early Sunday morning for suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants (via OregonLive.com).
It’s just another incident in a long line of off-field issues for the talented tight end, who signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent this past offseason.
Lyerla was arrested last year for possession of cocaine and later quit the Oregon football team. Once considered an elite NFL draft prospect, the spectacular athlete simply hasn’t been able to keep his nose clean (pun intended) off the field.
He just recently received an injury settlement from the Packers after suffering a knee injury during training camp. This latest incident could very well be the nail in the coffin for Lyerla as it relates to his NFL career.
