Minnesota Vikings Release Jerome Simpson

The Minnesota Vikings have released suspended wide receiver Jerome Simpson, who was slated to come back to the active roster following their Week 3 game against the New Orleans Saints.

This comes immediately after it was reported that Simpson was charged with driving on a limited license, marijuana possession and driving with an open containder of alcohol stemming from an incident this past July.

Simpson is currently serving a three-game suspension from a DUI arrest last year. He was also suspended four games by the NFL back in 2011 as a member of the Cincinnati Bengals.

The 28-year-old receiver caught 48 passes for 726 yards last season. He joins Adrian Peterson as another valuable member of the Vikings offense who likely won’t suit up for the team again this season.
