Report: Rams Interested in Mark Sanchez

Let the rumors about the St. Louis Rams being interested in veteran quarterbacks begin. Shortly after it was reported that Rams quarterback Sam Bradford suffered a torn ACL against the Cleveland Browns on Saturday, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport is indicating that the team has some interest in Philadelphia Eagles backup Mark Sanchez.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports that the Rams have some interest in Sanchez, per a source informed of the situation. But the Eagles have been more than pleased with the former Jets quarterback this year and would have to be blown away to trade him.

The important part of this blurb is what Philadelphia might be looking to acquire in return for Sanchez, who appears to be on the trade block. The former New York Jets starter has been stellar this preseason, completing 81 percent of his passes for 281 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. His success this preseason could potentially net the Eagles a nice return should they decide to trade him.

Sanchez has thrown 68 touchdowns compared to 69 interceptions in 62 career NFL starts. If the Rams are able to make a move for Sanchez, he would likely unseat current starter (by injury) Shaun Hill.
