Report: Officials Connected with the Bills not Impressed by Bon Jovi’s Letter

It seems that everyone involved in the Buffalo Bills, fans and officials included, are not too excited about the slim possibility that a group led by musician Jon Bon Jovi could potentially purchase the team.

In case you missed it, Bon Jovi penned an open letter earlier this week that indicated he would keep the team in Buffalo should his group submit the winning bid for the franchise (via ESPN).

There has been a lot of conjecture, so we think it’s important to clarify our intentions to the fans of the team and people of Buffalo,” Bon Jovi wrote. “I know how much the Bills mean to the people of this region. So I want you to hear this from me: I’m not risking it all to let you down. If we are given the chance to be the next owners of the Buffalo Bills, I promise you that we will bring the same passion that you do every Sunday, every day.

Bon Jovi continued by indicating that he plans on continuing Ralph Wilson’s legacy should he become the next Bills owner.

Unfortunately for the rocker and his group, this letter seemed to backfire a great deal. According to Tim Graham of the Buffalo News, those associated with the Bills aren’t exactly too thrilled by the letter Bon Jovi “sent” to fans in Buffalo.

In addition to this, there is some concern that Bon Jovi violated the Bills’ non disclosure agreement.

In short, by indicating his interest to purchase the Bills in an open letter to the fan base, Bon Jovi may very well have violated the terms of bidding when it comes to the Bills and those looking to buy the franchise. While this likely won’t have much of an impact on Bon Jovi’s ability to put in a winning bid, it does show that he’s not necessarily living up to his end of the bargain throughout this entire process. In addition to that, those who oppose Bon Jovi’s attempt to purchase the Bills are clearly growing in number by the day.
