Jets WR’ Jalen Saunders Involved in Car Accident

Rookie New York Jets wide receiver Jalen Saunders was involved in a single-car accident on his way to the team’s practice facility Friday morning. According to NFL Media’s Kevin Patra, Saunders is currently being monitored at the hospital out of precaution.

Saunders was taken to a hospital and being monitored as a precaution. It doesn’t appear he was seriously injured.

It goes without saying that Saunders will not suit up for the Jets second preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday.

A fourth-round pick out of Oklahoma, Saunders put up over 3,000 receiving yards in four seasons with the Sooners. He’s expected to challenge for the Jets primary punt return duties. In addition to that, Saunders could very well find a regular role in their receiver rotation, especially considering just how thin it is from a talent perspective.

The good news here is that the injuries seem relatively minor.
