Texans’ Andre Johnson Reports to Training Camp

Houston Texans’ veteran wide receiver Andre Johnson reported to training camp, so the standoff is over and devoted Johnson fans can be at peace.

NFL Media Insider, Ian Rapoport reported that sources informed him that Johnson actually passed his physical a few days ago. He also said, per Texans sources, that Johnson has had multiple talks over the summer with the Texans including Bob McNair.

Johnson shared these comments with reporters earlier today (via NFL.com)

I just love playing the game of football. It’s my job to make up for the time that I missed. I’m gonna work my butt off, like I always do.

I feel very comfortable in where the organization is going.

The Texans’ organization learned that Johnson planned to attend camp, but didn’t completely believe it until he actually arrived today. Rapoport indicates that there were no monetary offers made to Johnson to coax him to attend, which would lead us to believe that he was not paid the $1 million bonus he missed when he skipped his OTA’s.

I’m sure the team was ecstatic when they saw Johnson, who is starting his 12th season with the Texans, arrive to the practice field.
