Future Hall of Fame guard Dwyane Wade announced on Twitter that he has re-signed with the Miami Heat. After the departure of LeBron James to the Cleveland Cavaliers, it wasn’t a foregone conclusion that Wade would be returning to Miami to finish what has been a stellar career.

It now appears that Wade is ready to team up with newly re-signed Chris Bosh in an attempt to repeat as Eastern Conference champions in 2014-2015. The terms of the deal are not yet known.

Wade took a small step back last season, but was still able to put up 19.0 points and 4.7 assists for the Heat. As the face of the franchise for the last 11 years, it’s good to see the shooting guard stay true to his roots. He’s a three-time NBA champion and 10-time All-Star with Miami.
