Tampa Bay Rays starter Erik Bedard was knocked out of the game against the Boston Red Sox this afternoon after just 4.2 innings. He’s yet another Rays starter to fail to put up a quality start in what is becoming a dumpster fire of a season for the last-place team. And their social media staff made sure we all know that the pitching hasn’t been up to snuff.
This will mark the 27th time a #Rays starter has gone 5 innings or less this season, most in the majors.

Tampa Bay ranks 24th in the majors in ERA, 29th in quality starts, 19th in WHIP and 13th in batting average against. Though, it’s important to note that Matt Moore is out for the season while Jeremy Hellickson and Alex Cobb have both been banged up through the early part of the year.
